Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm
An aneurysm is a weakened part of a blood vessel that expands like a balloon. You also have a main artery in your abdomen and when this vessel becomes weakened and starts to expand, it is called an abdominal aortic aneurysm. Often times abdominal aortic aneurysms are detected by a physical exam or when testing is done for different reasons. If you have been diagnosed with this, your provider may recommend surgery to repair the aneurysm. Today there are less invasive ways to treat aortic aneurysms. The most common way is by placing a graft in the aorta. This is called an Endovascular Repair. When you meet with the surgeon, they will discuss the procedure that will best treat your condition
